In detail
Learn to drive a manual car with structured, personalised lessons designed to build your skills, confidence and road awareness.
Lessons are structured around where you are now rather than a fixed syllabus, covering car control, road awareness and the skills you need to drive independently.
Starting from scratch? No problem. We'll take you through everything step by step, from your first time behind the wheel to becoming a confident driver.
Your first lessons start with the basics in a quiet area, and build up as you get comfortable. Nothing is rushed.
Already have a licence but haven't driven for a while? Refresh your skills and rebuild your confidence in a calm, supportive environment.
We start by seeing where your driving is now, then work on whatever has gone rusty, often junctions, motorways or parking.
Learn how to safely and confidently drive on motorways, including joining and leaving, lane discipline, speed management and safe overtaking.
Covers joining and leaving, lane discipline, speed management and safe overtaking, at a pace that suits you.
Looking to learn in a shorter period? Intensive courses provide focused training designed around your experience, availability and test goals.
The course is built around your current experience and how much time you have. Talk to Hasan about what would be realistic for you.
Get fully prepared for your practical driving test with focused lessons covering test routes, manoeuvres, independent driving and common test mistakes.
Focused sessions on test routes, manoeuvres, independent driving and the mistakes that most often cost people a pass.
Develop your driving skills and experience after passing your test with further training across a range of different driving environments.
Additional training across a range of driving environments, building the experience a test alone does not give you.
Nervous or anxious about driving? Build your confidence gradually with patient, supportive tuition tailored to your individual needs.
We go at your pace, in surroundings you are comfortable with, and build up only when you are ready.
Struggling with clutch control, stalling, moving off or manoeuvres? I'll identify exactly where you're going wrong and help you develop smooth, controlled driving.
Hesitation, stalling, clutch riding and inconsistent biting-point control are all fixable with the right technique. This is about finding the specific thing holding you back and correcting it.
Help with the theory test: how to revise, what the hazard perception clips are looking for, and how to book.
Guidance and practice advice as part of your lessons. The theory test itself is booked and sat with the DVSA, not with Magic Wheels.
Prefer to learn without the clutch? Automatic lessons are taught the same way, structured, patient and built around you.
Automatic lessons are taught by Magic Wheels' automatic instructor, who is also a DVSA Approved Driving Instructor, in their own car. If you are not sure which is right for you, ask, the answer usually depends on what you want to drive afterwards.
How lessons work
You and the instructor agree a plan at the start and revisit it as you progress. Nobody is pushed through a syllabus at a pace that does not suit them.
Lessons are practical from the first session. You will spend the time driving, with the instructor explaining as you go and taking over only if it is needed.
Nothing here is a promise about how quickly you will be ready for a test, or about the result. What is offered is preparation, not an outcome.
Questions
Lessons are two hours. That is the standard length at Magic Wheels and every published price is based on it, so a single lesson, a block booking and test-day car hire all mean two-hour sessions. See the prices page for the full list.
Both. Hasan teaches manual lessons in his own car. Automatic lessons are taught by Magic Wheels' automatic instructor, who is also a DVSA Approved Driving Instructor, in their own car. If you are not sure which to choose, ask, it usually comes down to what you want to drive after you pass.
Pickup is usually arranged from an agreed address within the Magic Wheels service area, such as the learner's home, school, college or workplace. Pickup availability depends on the postcode, lesson schedule and route practicality, so it must be confirmed with Hasan in advance.
Beginner lessons start from scratch and go step by step, from your first time behind the wheel through to driving confidently on your own. Nothing is rushed, and lessons are adapted to your pace.
For your first lesson, bring your valid provisional driving licence and wear suitable, comfortable footwear. Wear your glasses or contact lenses if you need them for driving. Hasan will confirm anything else before the lesson.
Describe where you are up to and the instructor will tell you what they would suggest.
